The rara avis indeed among textbooks on partnerships and private corporations is one that is presented in so simple, so clear and so concise a manner that beginners in the study of law, particularly commerce students, can acquire a fair understanding of these two highly specialized legal subjects in a reasonably shorter period of time. Happily, there is such a book: The Law o Partnerships and Private Corporations, by Atty. Hector S. De Leon. I read this book with genuine relish and appreciation and I found it comprehensive in scope and yet simplified in treatment and presentation — a real tribute to the author’s experience, dedication and scholarship in the abstruse and pre-eminently technical field of law. A further virtue of the book is that it can serve as a handy reference guide not only for law students but also for law practitioners, accountants and businessmen. – Emmanuel Pelaez
