Its mission is to advance the interests of investment companies (mutual funds, closed-end funds, unit investment trusts, and exchange-traded funds) and their shareholders, to promote public understanding of investment companies, and to serve the public interest by encouraging adherence to high ethical standards by all elements of the business.
